Snow days ended today……..

The days of table games and sleeping in were traded for an early morning of lunch packing and supply gathering……………

and saying bye to Todd and Olivia as they darted out the door.

For me a few peaceful days remain. I return to the doctor tomorrow and might possibly be able to return to the classroom on Thursday.

But honestly, I panic at the thought.

I’ve gotten comfortable here at home again. My heart is here. So I’ve found myself really having to do some self-talk. Anxiety overcomes me in the dark hours of the night when I think of stepping back into a pace that too easily becomes too hectic.

I like a calm world.

So, for today, in the quiet of my house, I am going to do the only thing I know to do when I feel this way.

I am going to spend my day thanking God for all the little things that make life precious. Because I have found that when I stay thankful I have less time to worry, fret, or complain.

We are all surrounded by gifts. What are you thankful for today?
