In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.

(This was the first census that took place whileQuirinius was governor of Syria.)

And everyone went to their own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.

He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,  and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

Luke 1:1-6

I love that the Christmas story unfolds with such last-minute drama.

I have to think that Joseph and Mary both felt a little inadequate knowing they were bringing God’s only Son into this world and yet not having a great “plan” for His arrival.

I have to think that as they stood at the door of the inn and heard the innkeeper say, “There’s no room here,” that they looked at each other and thought, “We should have made reservations.”

I’m having one of those Decembers where I should have done a lot of things already……

and time is running out!

I should have put up a tree by now.

I should have made a Christmas list and began some more serious shopping.

I should have started baking.

I should have hung some lights.

But, for whatever reason, I have not yet.

So, I’m trusting that God will find me right where I’m at this Christmas and somehow make all things beautiful in a way only He can.

I decided months ago to make this a simple Christmas,

and

I refuse to stress now.

I’m thinking that if a stable, some cattle, and some shepherds were good enough for the King of Kings then one tree (eventually) and a few lights (hopefully) will be enough to fill our home with love and joy this holiday season.

I decided to add a few Christmas pictures to me blog today just to add a little Christmas joy!!!

At least I can now know that my blog is looking a little festive!!

I hope your December is unfolding in a peaceful fun way.

Soak up every minute.

Allow God to step in and supply just what you and your family need for a perfect holiday season!

If you find yourself running out of time,

take a deep breath and smile.

Jesus’ parents felt the same way, and look how beautiful the first Christmas turned out!!!

I love you all so much!!

Happy December 5th!!!
