LUKE 12:48

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”

As you know if you have followed my blog for very long, our family had the opportunity to fly to India in April to visit an orphanage that our friend’s have been entrusted with in the city of Damoh.

Since returning home, we have been so overwhelmed with India.

I personally have been almost unable to even wrap my mind around what a family in America can really do to help a country so populated, so poor, so far away.

Today we enjoyed a visit with our dear friend from India (Dana, you’re right!  It’s Vivek!!!!  I have a surprise  for you!!)God coordinated an unexpected opportunity for him to speak at our church this evening and a chance for me to say “out loud” a little about how I felt about our trip.  It felt good to put into words what my heart has been holding so tightly!

If you are reading this blog post, you have been given more than most Indians will ever have…access to technology.

If you have a home, you have been given more than most Indians will ever have..a roof over your head.

If you are not wondering how you will be able to feed your family today, then you have been given more than most Indians will ever have..access to food.

I believe that we will be held accountable for the blessings we have been given.

How do we use what we have been blessed with to bless others?

I think we will answer that question when we stand before the Lord.

The children from the orphanage have chapel once a week…where they listen to a sermon, sing praises, and have prayer time..all while sitting on the floor.

I am simply amazed at the joy these children have hidden deep in their hearts in spite of what life has handed them!

These precious girls were so excited to show us around their “home.”  Three rooms lined with beds and shelves for their clothes.  We gave them candy, and they kept trying to give it back to us.  They were just so excited to be with us.

The little boys at the orphanage loved to look at Tim’s pictures after he took them!

When Tim showed them a picture, they always said, “Wow!”

Beginning work on the orphanage.  Right now the children are split up between three old buildings around the town…in rental property while they wait.

Design for the final orphanage which will be the home for hundreds of orphans!

Part of the efforts of Nick’s Foundation will be to help build the kitchen and dining hall of this building which will be able to hold 100 children at a time!

We found out today that the total funds needed for this portion of the project is $60,000.  I will be starting a chart on Nick’s foundation’s website

to monitor our progress in meeting this goal!

We are so excited to be a part of this ministry and realize that Nick’s life will help make hundreds of Indian children’s lives a little better!  It is an overwhelming task, but I love tasks that are too big for us!

They give God the opportunity to step in and do what He does best!

The seemingly impossible!

They are naming the orphanage

“Joshua’s Place”

in memory of Nick’s favorite verse!

Joshua 1:9!

Oh, Nick, I miss you and I love you!  But, oh Nick, I know that you are rejoicing everyday and cheering us all on as we try to help others get to Heaven too!

Humbled to be your mom and His daughter,
