A BIG WEEK FOR OUR FAMILY!!!!
My one and only baby brother is getting married Saturday! This is Cy with his bride-to-be! Maura came into Cy's life about a year and half ago, and we are all so thankful for her! She adds a smile and a laugh to our family that is much needed after the tough journey...
Erich and Olivia………
Tonight was KCU's Junior/Senior Banquet. Since Mallory couldn't come up from Nashville to go with Erich, he asked Olivia to be his date. This is a picture of them out side the Carter Caves lodge this evening.
Caught in the act?
When I was probably about eight years old, I went to the grocery store with my mom - not realizing that the events of that day would become a story I'd carry with me for 36 years. I remember fairly vividly standing in the check-out line holding a little purse and...
Thankful Thursday
God longs to hear us say the words "thank you," but sometimes this comes in the midst of great sacrifice. Chapter Eight in Nancy's book Choosing Gratitude is called, "But Not Without Sacrifice." Yesterday I took Olivia and several little friends to see a movie after...
Preparing the Soil…………..
Before planting any seeds in my new little garden, I have to be sure the soil is ready. So, I bought some topsoil and fertilizer and went to a friend's house who lives on a creek and filled some bags with sand. Then a couple of my husband's friends from church came...
Unafraid………..
Karen Goodman, author of Unafraid: Living God's Plan on a Ladder and a Promise, contacted me several months ago to see if I would join her blog tour for the month of April. At the time, April seemed so far away! (The fact that we were snowed in at the time probably...
Happy Easter!
I wanted to take a minute as the sun was rising this morning to simply say, "Happy Easter!"Just as surely as the sun comes up every morning, I believe that God's Son rose from the dead on resurrection day over 2000 years ago.And just as surely as I believe that He...
Thankful Thursday………..

He was speaking in the mall……
If you didn't already know, Nick's favorite verse was Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified. Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." I was at the mall Saturday afternoon and walked into a store to look at...
Until tonight………….
I had to take a minute to say, "GOOD MORNING!" And "I'm praying for you all!" Have a wonderful day. Make someone smile! You may be the only one who does all day. 🙂 Whisper a little prayer for Tim if you think of him..he's preaching in chapel today at KCU. Until...
In December of 2007 as our youngest son, Nick, was fighting brain cancer, I began to blog. Writing provided a way for me to release all of my questions, fears, and doubts. It also allowed me to share the ups and downs of Nick's journey with people who were praying for him all over the world. When Nick went Home in November of 2008, my blog became my way of searching for God in the midst of my deep heartache. My heart was broken and grief brought to the surface every emotion imaginable. Being able to release those emotions through my writing brought a sense of purpose to my pain. Having already walked the road of grief in 1992 when we lost our daughter to SIDS, I knew I needed a way to keep from falling into a pit of depression and despair. I had walked close to the edge of a bottomless pit when we lost our daughter, and I knew I couldn't let myself get that close to the edge again. This blog has been and continues to be my tiny corner of the world where I can share My Heart as I journey through God's Word.......thus the name........ My Heart His Words. Thank you for taking time to share life with me. If we do not meet while here on earth, I look forward to hearing all about your life when we reach our final destiny.........Heaven!
