Everything seems better when the sun is up, doesn’t it? The neurosurgeon on-call came to see Nick this morning and explained that post-op seizures are not “shocking” to them like they are to us. He was very calm. He asked Nick what his phone number was and where he was and Nick could answer both questions easily. Nick does have a fever of 101.4, so they want to take a look at this for a day or so. He still isn’t what I would call “my old Nick,” but they have him on two medicines which can cause him to be a little sluggish and we think that may be part of the reason. I did ask him what he would say if I shared a “shout out” in an email, and all he said was, “I WANT TO GO HOME!” That made us all smile! Thank you to everyone who has sent encouraging emails and words of prayer. Scriptures always mean the world to me too! They always come at the perfect time! Meet Tammy
In December of 2007 as our youngest son, Nick, was fighting brain cancer, I began to blog. Writing provided a way for me to release all of my questions, fears, and doubts. It also allowed me to share the ups and downs of Nick's journey with people who were praying for him all over the world. When Nick went Home in November of 2008, my blog became my way of searching for God in the midst of my deep heartache. My heart was broken and grief brought to the surface every emotion imaginable. Being able to release those emotions through my writing brought a sense of purpose to my pain. Having already walked the road of grief in 1992 when we lost our daughter to SIDS, I knew I needed a way to keep from falling into a pit of depression and despair. I had walked close to the edge of a bottomless pit when we lost our daughter,and I knew I couldn't let myself get that close to the edge again. This blog has been and continues to be my tiny corner of the world where I can share My Heart as I journey through God's Word.......thus the name........ My Heart His Words. I just tried to go to Nick’s website and it said it had exceeded the # allowed to visit for the day. What a blessing to think that so many people are praying for Nick!
Somehow I missed keeping up with you yesterday, yet God brought Nick to my mind and I prayed!! Isn’t God good? I also tried to access Nick’s website, but couldn’t. Will try another time. I pray that the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him (Rom 15:13)
