sunrise

Psalm 113:2-4

Let the name of the LORD be praised,
       both now and forevermore.

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.

The LORD is exalted over all the nations,
       his glory above the heavens.

Everything seems better when the sun rises, doesn’t it?

There’s something about the darkness that can bring out our deepest fears and anxieties.

I think that is why there are so many Scriptures about God “making us new every morning.”

When I think about the sun rising today, I can’t help but think of God’s Son rising and how his Resurrection has transformed me.

Where would I be without the Hope of Heaven, the promise of forgiveness, the reality of a Savior, the gift of eternal life, and the example of sacrifice made on the cross?

Yes, everything changed when His Son rose.

And I am thankful that today I can see that power symbolized in a very literal way as the earthly sun rises over my home.

Praying you feel changed by both the sun rising and the Son rising,
