My one and only baby brother is getting married Saturday! This is Cy with his bride-to-be!
Maura came into Cy’s life about a year and half ago, and we are all so thankful for her! She adds a smile and a laugh to our family that is much needed after the tough journey we have been on for so very long.
I have to share real quick that Nick loved his Uncle Cy! He thought he was sooooo funny!! Cy was at our house for Thanksgiving the year Nick was very sick. He left and went back to Louisville on Friday of that week, but for some reason (I believe it was a nudge from God), Cy turned around and drove back to our house on Saturday morning. He arrived just in time to be with us for Nick’s final breaths. It was such an emotional moment in our home, and I’m thankful that Cy was there. I’ll never, ever forget.
I remember hearing about Maura not long after that day.
It made me smile to know that Cy had found “love.”

Cy is so silly!
And Cy told Maura he loved her because she had the same fun spirit as our mom!
I thought that was so sweet!
The very first time I met Maura was last summer at Nickapalooza! She jumped right in and helped sell t-shirts during the concerts!
Mom and Dad came to share that day too!
Cy and Maura always have fun together!
It just makes me smile seeing pictures of Cy with the love of his life!
Olivia always called Cy “Monkle Cy” when she was little..I think because he called her a monkey!
This is Cy with Tim on the cruise at Christmastime….It’s hard to believe that at our wedding Cy was only 13!!!! I feel really old!!
I just had to share the big news of our week with all of you….
I’ll share wedding pictures next Monday!!
1 Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not
love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

Cy and Maura
Now we’ll all be on the “married” side of life.

In December of 2007 as our youngest son, Nick, was fighting brain cancer, I began to blog. Writing provided a way for me to release all of my questions, fears, and doubts. It also allowed me to share the ups and downs of Nick's journey with people who were praying for him all over the world. When Nick went Home in November of 2008, my blog became my way of searching for God in the midst of my deep heartache. My heart was broken and grief brought to the surface every emotion imaginable. Being able to release those emotions through my writing brought a sense of purpose to my pain. Having already walked the road of grief in 1992 when we lost our daughter to SIDS, I knew I needed a way to keep from falling into a pit of depression and despair. I had walked close to the edge of a bottomless pit when we lost our daughter, and I knew I couldn't let myself get that close to the edge again. This blog has been and continues to be my tiny corner of the world where I can share My Heart as I journey through God's Word.......thus the name........ My Heart His Words. Thank you for taking time to share life with me. If we do not meet while here on earth, I look forward to hearing all about your life when we reach our final destiny.........Heaven! Email me anytime at

Congratulations Cy and Maura! May you have many happy years together!
So happy for this happy time for you all. Enjoy!
Very very sweet…congrats to all and God bless your life’s journey together!!
